Scopely is seeking a QA Director for our unannounced project in Barcelona, Spain, Dublin, Ireland, Portugal, or the UK, with hybrid or remote options. We offer visa sponsorship and relocation support.
At Scopely, we are passionate about creating inspiring play experiences and connecting millions of players worldwide. We are developing an ambitious, cross-platform Strategy/MMO game featuring a well-known IP, and you will have the opportunity to influence its success by leading our QA efforts.
What You Will Do
* Design, build, and refine the test framework, leading QA operations and strategy.
* Oversee internal and external QA teams, manage resources, and coordinate tools and processes.
* Collaborate with leadership to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
* Define and implement QA metrics, KPIs, and best practices.
* Manage external QA vendors, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
* Research and advocate for new tools and methodologies to enhance QA efficiency.
* Ensure high standards for releases, investigating issues, and mitigating defects.
* Lead annual remuneration reviews and talent development initiatives.
* Align QA strategies with company vision and quality guidelines.
* Provide reports and risk assessments to senior management.
* Manage QA tooling, documentation, and bug tracking systems.
* Foster strong communication across cross-functional teams, including localization.
* Support career development within the QA organization.
* Maintain deep project knowledge and participate in team ceremonies.
* Promote automation efforts and team morale activities.
What We’re Looking For
* 10+ years in quality assurance, with 6+ years leading game QA teams.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
* Experience building and managing end-to-end QA organizations.
* Deep understanding of Dev QA, external testing, and SDLC practices.
* Experience working with remote and distributed teams globally.
* Ability to influence senior management and foster strong relationships.
* Exceptional attention to detail, multitasking, and deadline management skills.
* Proficiency with bug databases, test management tools, and build distribution systems.
Bonus Points
* Experience in mobile freemium/F2P gaming.
* Knowledge of localization, LQA, and build submission processes.
