Working as part of a small kitchen team, the pub offers a high quality yet simple menu made using fresh, seasonal ingredients and is open for both lunch and dinner service. Whilst staff live in accommodation is available, please note that their location is extremely rural with no public transport links nearby, therefore, this role may be best suited to someone with their own transport.
What’s involved?
As an experienced Head Chef, you will take the lead of a team of 2-3 chefs, and will be responsible for all aspects of the kitchen operation including cleaning and washing up.
You will create a menu offering high-quality pub food, using fresh, local and seasonal ingredients, and will then be involved in the preparation, cooking and presentation of the dishes. As an experienced and organised chef, you must be used to working in a fast paced environment as during the summer months, you can expect to cater for 150/200 covers per service!
You’ll be responsible for managing stock and ordering food from suppliers to ensure you can keep control of your budget, keep accurate records and minimise wastage. And will also be responsible for creating rota’s, staff training and development.
Due to their location, it is quite a seasonal place so you can expect to cater for very few during the winter months however in the summertime, you will be rushed off your feet as you cater for those eating in the pub as well as offering a takeaway service to those on the beach.
Staff live in accommodation is available if you are unable to commute to the area daily.
