 
        
        Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to take on the position of Practice Manager within Hillcrest Medical Centre, Wrexham. This practice is currently being managed by the Local Health Board. Previous experience of working within a GP Practice would be beneficial and knowledge of the EMIS clinical system is desirable, however training can be given. The demands of a GP practice can change on a daily basis and therefore this role will be challenging.
Main Duties
 * Day‑to‑day operational management of the LHB Managed Practice, ensuring service delivery in accordance with the GMS contract, Enhanced Services Commissioning Plan and Health Board objectives.
 * Engage with a wide range of stakeholders within the LHB Managed Practice network and other departments across the Health Board.
 * Provide line management, staff training and development, delivering against competing deadlines and driving change.
 * Maintain accurate communication, accuracy and pace required in a fast‑moving GP environment.
Qualifications
 * Degree level qualification and/or management qualification (e.g., AMSPAR) and relevant primary care experience in a managerial position.
 * Evidence of CPD.
Experience
 * Line management or supervisory role with staff training and development.
 * Delivering a customer‑oriented service, including managing concerns and complaints.
 * Experience working in primary care.
 * Experience managing change.
 * Experience working in multi‑disciplinary teams and knowledge of the secondary care sector.
Knowledge
 * Comprehensive understanding of Primary Care policies, procedures and legislation (N GMS Contract).
 * Knowledge of practice‑based commissioning (desirable).
Skills
 * Excellent written and verbal communication.
 * Effective leadership and ability to influence others.
 * Understanding of clinical governance and quality improvement.
 * Organisational, planning and time‑management skills.
 * Computer literacy – competent use of a range of office software.
 * Initiative and independence.
 * Knowledge of data collection and information management methods (desirable).
 * Fluent Welsh is desirable.
Job Details
Location: Hillcrest Medical Centre, 86 Holt Road, Wrexham, LL13 8RG.
Contract: Permanent, Part‑time.
Band: 6.
Salary: £39,263 to £47,280 per annum (pro‑rata).
