The purpose of this role is to drive financial performance through financial analysis, reporting, planning, and business partnering to financial and other departmental stakeholders. This is a key role within the FP&A team, which serves as a key finance partner to cross-functional stakeholders, contributing to budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and strategic decision-making. The role combines traditional reporting responsibilities with a forward-looking, commercially aware approach, enabling informed decisions and continuous financial improvement across the organisation.
What the role involves
* Business partnering acting as a strategic finance partner to key business units, providing financial insight and challenge.
* Financial Analysis through extrapolating, modelling and translating complex financial data into meaningful commentary to support decision-making.
* Budgeting, forecasting and planning through collaborating with budget holders to gather assumptions, review projections, and improve forecast accuracy.
* Monthly management reporting through reporting packs ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
* Improve performance measurement & processes.
* Through business systems and technology ensure that data is handled in an appropriate manner and ensure all documentation is correctly signed and compliant with data protection regulations and internal policies and procedures.
* Ad-hoc analysis and strategic support.
* Lead, mentor and coach the business on the benefits of financial best practice, process improvement and the delivery of best value for The Kennel Club.
* Provide strong, visible leadership to support the delivery of the desired culture and the delivery of the business’ vision for the future.
* Ensure compliance with all legal obligations; acting with honesty & integrity.

What you'll bring to the role
* Part-qualification or qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA / equivalent) preferred.
* Proven experience in an FP&A, commercial finance, or business partnering/analyst role.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with ERP (Microsoft D365) and BI reporting tools is advantageous.
* Strong business partnering skills with the ability to influence at all levels and specifically non-financial stakeholders.
* Commercial mindset with a high attention to detail.
* Confident communicator with the ability to explain financials to non-finance audiences.
* Collaborative, proactive, positive attitude and adaptable in dynamic business environments.
* Advanced analytical skills that deliver effective solutions and priorities.
* Delivery focussed mindset whilst demonstrating flexibility to adapt and solve problems; Outstanding “can-do” attitude.
