<div><h3>Neonatal Staff Nurse (Experienced)</h3><p>Closing date: 30 June 2026.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Deliver high standards of care in partnership with families in a safe and professional environment.</li><li>Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care.</li><li>Contribute positively to the achievement of local (ward) and Trust‑wide objectives.</li><li>After a period of preceptorship and development, supervise and teach junior staff and students and take charge of the ward in the absence of senior colleagues.</li><li>Adhere to Trust policies and procedures.</li><li>Act as a positive role model and demonstrate conduct and attitude in keeping with the Trust values.</li><li>Participate in performance management and clinical supervision.</li><li>Follow Trust policy in the event of critical incidents and complaints.</li><li>Read, keep up to date with, and adhere to the NMC Code and guidelines, as well as Trust policies and procedures.</li><li>Maintain professional registration and revalidation requirements of the NMC at all times during employment.</li><li>Participate in research and development activities when required.</li><li>Be prepared to move to other areas at short notice by a senior manager to ensure safe delivery of care.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>NMC Registration</li><li>Registered Nurse Child or Adult</li><li>First Degree</li><li>Mentors and Assessors / SLAIP</li><li>PILs / NLS</li></ul><h3>Personal Skills / Abilities and Attributes</h3><ul><li>Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively in challenging situations.</li><li>Highly developed procedural skills such as cannulation, injections, manipulation of syringe pumps, bathing patients, and lifting or manoeuvring equipment.</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of the practices of equality and inclusion.</li><li>Understand the importance of effective team working.</li><li>Flexible across hours of work to meet service need, including nights and weekends.</li><li>Demonstrate conduct and behaviours in keeping with the NMC Code.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge & Nature of Experience</h3><ul><li>Neonatal experience.</li><li>Evidence of completion of an NQP programme.</li><li>Understanding of professional and current issues in nursing.</li><li>Evidence of supervising and assessing students.</li></ul><h3>Analytical and Judgement Skills</h3><ul><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.</li><li>Ability to think quickly in a rapidly changing acute environment and make analysis and independent judgments that influence patient care.</li><li>Ability to plan and prioritise daily workload to ensure high quality and safe care.</li><li>Planning and organisational skills.</li></ul><h3>Disclosure and Barring Service Check</h3><p>This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and will require a Disclosure and Barring Service check to verify previous criminal convictions.</p><h3>Salary</h3><p>£32,073 to £39,043 a year, pro‑rated.</p><h3>Equal Opportunities</h3><p>We are committed to creating the best place to work.
