* Good experience leading a systems engineering team in relevant product markets and/or domains, such as controls, real-time displays, or safety-related systems.
* Experience in managing projects to tight schedules and budgets.
* Proven experience across the product development lifecycle, utilizing tools such as DOORS, Siemens Polarion, Enterprise Architect, CAMEO, MATLAB, and/or Simulink.
* A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Scientific/Engineering subject (e.g., Systems Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics).
* In addition, desirable qualifications would include:
* Experience in integration, test, and/or verification of real-time and/or safety-related systems.
* Customer and/or supplier liaison experience for technical aspects, verifying and obtaining agreement that customer needs are satisfied.
* An understanding of information assurance, cyber security, and environmental impact aspects relating to real-time embedded engineering products.
Responsibilities:
* In the role of Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Understanding the packages of work, size, and time phasing, and how these contribute to the critical path and/or milestones.
* Assessing the team size and skillset required across the team.
* Recognizing any major dependencies or facilities required across the team.
* Contributing strategically to project aspects and facilitating the implementation of initiatives.
* Providing regular status updates and recommendations on the resourcing requirements to the project and the functional engineering manager.
* Supporting the business by creating new estimates for bids and maintaining the schedule and budget for ongoing projects.
* Assisting team members with their career development in collaboration with the Functional Manager.

This role will assist the functional department and projects by managing work package scope, scheduling, resources, and strategy for the project systems domain.
You will work closely with Engineering Project Managers to understand near-term (3 to 6 months) and longer-term (18 to 24 months) work plans, identify critical paths for the overall project, and align tasks with team members. Leading a team of highly capable engineers, you will deliver against your plans and estimates, address emerging issues with progress, and determine when support from other teams is necessary to ensure timely solutions.
