Technical Support Manager - Wyke Farms
Location: Wincanton, Somerset. BA9 9DT. Site based.
Reporting to: Customer Technical Manager

Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Technical Support Manager to join our team at the Wincanton site. In this key role, you will support technical operations, uphold product integrity, ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. You will report directly to the Customer Technical Manager and collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily technical operations, ensuring compliance with food safety, quality standards, and customer-specific requirements.
* Develop and manage the Supplier Quality Assurance Program, including documentation of specifications and certifications.
* Evaluate new suppliers through technical reviews and supplier questionnaires.
* Maintain accurate product specifications and compliance documentation across retailer portals.
* Submit KPI data and ensure timely updates in line with retailer codes of practice and portal requirements.
* Coordinate responses to customer inquiries in collaboration with the Customer Technical Manager.
* Support export-related technical operations and packaging compliance tasks.
* Assist with cheese grading and product release processes.
* Prepare documentation and provide support for customer visits, third-party audits, and regulatory inspections.
* Lead the implementation and management of benchmark and consistency panels.
* Participate in internal audits and conduct product traceability exercises, mass balance checks, and mock recalls.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
* Experience in a technical or quality role within the food manufacturing industry.
* Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer codes of practice.
* Familiarity with retailer online portals.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* High attention to detail and strong IT proficiency.
* An individual that can work and align with the 'Wyke Way' of getting things done
