Warrington indoor market open around 5.5 years ago and has been highly successful ever since winning several national awards. The food court, know as Cookhouse has 12 food outlets and 2 bars serving an extensive seating area both inside and outside on our terrace. If successful you will become part of the team that services the food court and keeps the public coming back time and time again
The role
We are looking to recruit a reliable and conscientious individual to service the communal seating area in the busy food court of the Warrington Indoor Market whilst one of our colleagues is on maternity leave. The post is initially for 6 months.
You will be responsible for cleaning the tables, seats and floor area and removing crockery, cutlery and waste to the back of house area on the trollies provided. Here you will dispose of the waste as appropriate, wash the cutlery and crockery in the dishwashers provided and return them in a timely manner back to the hot food outlets. You will also occasionally be called upon to clean the public and accessible toilets in the market.
The ability to work within a team with minimum supervision and good customer service skills, remaining courteous and polite at all times are essential.
A flexible approach to working hours accepting there is both a requirement to cover colleagues during absence and on occasions, work outside of core hours to assist in the delivery of specialist promotions, markets/events.
You will be issued with a uniform that you must use at all times on duty. You are also responsible for your uniform and equipment’s correct use and safe storage. A working knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene requirements would be an advantage however training will be given.
This is a fixed term position for 6 months.

If successful in obtaining an interview it will consist of a number of straight forward questions in the market office therefore it is advisable to familiarise yourself as a customer with the Cookhouse environment.
The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
DBS clearance is required.
