Role: Lift Engineer Reporting To: Director Location: Hertfordshire Salary range : £38k – 43k per annum Hours : 7.30am – 4.30pm Job purpose : To carry out statutory LOLER inspections on a variety of lifting equipment. Inspections to be carried out thoroughly and to an excellent standard. Key tasks : Insurance inspections - Attending sites, examining a wide variety of lifting equipment and issuing reports to clients. Condition surveys - Surveying existing plants to provide a report upon the incumbent service provider's service delivery, compliance with current Health & Safety Legislation, Disability Discrimination Act compliance and short/medium/long term comments in respect to lift cycle analysis of the plant. Provide an overview report of possible options for either refurbishment of existing installation of possible replacement with a new pre-engineered modular design solution. Equipment audits - Carry out visual surveys of existing installations to 'benchmark' the installation against our in-house predetermined 'quality' expectations and produce reports. Maintenance audits - Providing professional advice on the incumbent service provider as to their overall performance and service delivery and produce reports. Travelling independently to attend customer sites/premises as required. Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of products and full range of accessories. Completing test certificates and associated paperwork in a timely and accurate manner. Abide by Health & Safety regulations at all times. To work in a manner that is methodical, efficient, considerate and respectful to clients at all times – providing excellent customer service. Carry out other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Senior Associate. Key objectives : Excellent customer/client experience. Maintenance / inspections / repairs carried out efficiently, safely and accurately in a cost-effective manner. Accurate records maintained. Person Specification - Essential Qualified (or equivalent experience) to at least NVQ 3 - Lift Engineering. Proven experience of carrying out service/maintenance lift inspections. Experience of independently diagnosing / repairing a variety of lifts. Experience working autonomously in a customer facing role. Good written and spoken English.
