About the Role:Hays are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Payroll Specialist to join a dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional with a strong understanding of payroll processes and statutory legislation to contribute to a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accurately process payroll transactions and ensure timely payments.
2. Calculate and apply tax, National Insurance (NI), and pension deductions.
3. Interpret and apply statutory legislation including:Statutory Sick Pay (SSP)Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)Statutory Shared Parental Pay (SHPP)Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP)Paternity PayStudent Loans and Postgraduate LoansCourt Orders
4. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
5. Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve payroll queries.
Essential Criteria:
6. Minimum of 1 year's experience in a payroll environment.
7. Strong working knowledge of payroll calculations and gross-to-net pay impacts.
8. Familiarity with statutory payroll legislation and deductions.
Desirable:
9. Experience using Oracle Fusion payroll systems.
