Position: Teacher

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, term time
Salary Details: Up to £44,947.50 per annum DOE
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Class Teacher to deliver engaging lessons to students with diverse needs who are unable to access mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire young people through personalised, accessible teaching in a supportive environment.
Who we are:
Netherlea School is managed within the Applied Care and Development (ACAD) organisation, which is a subsidiary of the proprietor, CareTech Community Services Ltd. It is an all-through independent special school, located in Dumfries. The school supports children and young people who have faced significant disruption to their learning as a result of social, emotional and behavioural needs, autistic spectrum disorder or learning difficulties. The school registration is for up to 16 children and young people between the ages of 8 years old and 18 years old.

Requirements:
1. Appropriate primary / secondary teaching qualification.
The ideal candidate will:
2. Communicate effectively with parents / carers.
3. Develop productive nurturing relationships with our young people.
4. Provide advice and guidance to pupils on issues related to their education and wider well-being.
5. Teach assigned classes together with associated preparation and planning.
6. Prepare pupils for examinations and assist with their administration.
7. Develop the school curriculum.
8. Maintain a rich, stimulating classroom environment.
9. Assess, record and report on the work of pupils.
10. Promote and safeguard the health, wellbeing and safety of pupils.
11. Work in partnership with parents, care staff and other professionals.
12. Participate in issues related to school planning, raising achievement and self evaluation.
13. Contribute towards the development needs of the school.
