A forward-thinking secondary school in Dagenham is looking for a dedicated DT teacher to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, permanent position is perfect for an Early Career Teacher or an experienced educator with a passion for practical, innovative learning.
You’ll be joining a well-resourced DT department with modern facilities and a curriculum designed to nurture technical skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Whether your focus is on resistant materials, product design, graphics, or systems, your input will help students explore real-world challenges through design.

Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons across KS3 and KS4.
* Teach across areas such as product design, graphics, and materials.
* Promote safe workshop practices and encourage creative thinking.
* Plan, assess, and adapt lessons to meet a variety of learning needs.
* Contribute to the development of DT curriculum and school projects.
* Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence.
* Collaborate with colleagues and take part in extra-curricular and enrichment opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience:
* QTS and a degree in Design and Technology or a related field (essential).
* Open to Early Career Teachers and experienced teachers alike.
* Strong communication and classroom management skills.
* Confidence in delivering practical and theoretical content.
* Understanding of health and safety in workshop settings.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil well-being.
* Enthusiasm for technology, creativity, and student development.
