€35,000 a year
Posted: 14h ago
Offer description

Our Arbroath is working towards securing up to £20M in UK Government funding to transform Arbroath into a thriving seaside town in Scotland. This achievement is a result of collaborative community efforts during the initial consultation phase. The ongoing initiative aims to bring significant improvements and opportunities to Arbroath, making it into one of Scotland's finest seaside towns.

Purpose

This is an exciting, first-of-its-kind role – a unique opportunity to help regenerate Arbroath to become a better place to live, visit, and do business. A part time, full time and job share will be considered.

The postholder will help coordinate, and deliver the Government Plan for Neighbourhoods in Arbroath, driving the town’s regeneration by strengthening local community and local business involvement, through on-going community engagement and consultation. The post holder will also help coordinate project subgroups and help The Board manage the annual Regeneration Fund.

The postholder will work for the Arbroath Town Board, helping coordinate and assist the delivery of the Arbroath Regeneration Plan. Both full-time and part-time positions will be considered. The postholder must be able to work flexibly as some occasional evening and weekend work may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Lead community and local business engagement activities, ensuring inclusive and meaningful consultation.

Coordinate and support project sub‑groups, maintaining clear actions, momentum, and effective communication with the Arbroath Town Board.

Assist with planning and delivering public events, workshops, consultations, and co‑design activities that support regeneration priorities.

Support the Town Board with day‑to‑day administration and communications relating to regeneration activity.

Develop innovative and accessible approaches to increase participation and strengthen community ownership of regeneration projects.

Act as a key liaison between the Arbroath Town Board, Angus Council, and the Plan for Neighbourhoods team.

Produce regular progress reports for the Town Board, including updates on community engagement, project progress, risks, and emerging opportunities.

Ensure Town Board compliance with all governance requirements associated with the Government Plan for Neighbourhoods.

* Please note: These responsibilities are not exhaustive. Given the nature of the funding, evolving community needs, and the dynamic context of regeneration work, duties may be adapted or expanded as required
