Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our dynamic team and manage our fleet. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at diagnosing and repairing heavy goods vehicles. This role requires a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
* Perform MOT prep on all vehicles
* Perform routine maintenance and inspections on vehicles, including oil changes, brake checks, and tyre rotations.
* Utilise hand tools and equipment to fabricate parts as necessary for repairs.
* Interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Conduct welding and soldering tasks as required for vehicle repairs.
* Operate forklifts safely to move heavy parts and equipment within the workshop.
* Assist in heavy lifting tasks during vehicle servicing and repairs.
* Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
* Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as an HGV Technician or in a similar role within the automotive industry.
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose complex issues.
* Familiarity with schematics and technical manuals.
* Experience in fabricating parts, welding, and soldering is highly desirable.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate forklifts safely.
* Excellent customer service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* A valid driving licence is preferred but not essential.

We have various sites so some travel between sites maybe required from time to time, a equipped vehicle will be available for use
Monday to Friday 8am-6pm
SALARY TO BE CONFIRMED
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £47,500.00-£50,000.00 per year
