About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Digital Adoption & Enablement Manager for a London Council to lead initiatives aimed at enhancing digital literacy and adoption within the organization and the wider community. Reporting into the Head of Digital & Products, this position provides the opportunity to shape the journey of digital transformation through diverse projects—from launching innovative digital tools to fostering a culture of innovation.
Main Responsibilities
The primary objective of this role is to define, develop, and deliver effective strategies and plans to optimize the adoption of new and existing technologies. The role involves developing digital skills and capabilities while encouraging a culture of innovation across the organization and externally. Additionally, the manager will oversee digital inclusion initiatives in the community and have line management and budget responsibilities.
Key day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Leading and managing the Digital Adoption & Enablement team to enhance digital capabilities and maturity.
* Contributing to the practical implementation of digital transformation initiatives and delivering key strategies.
* Ensuring digital projects address learning needs to enable confident adoption.
* Maintaining strategic relationships with suppliers and partners providing digital solutions.
* Defining and communicating a vision for digital adoption linked to organizational objectives.
* Developing initiatives to improve digital literacy and capabilities internally and externally.
* Encouraging self-motivated learning throughout the workforce.
* Establishing and leading a network of Change Champions to build digital skills and awareness.
* Driving adoption of technologies like Microsoft 365, Windows 11, new lines and business systems and AI-powered tools and promoting efficient, collaborative work methods.
* Maximizing the potential of existing technologies for efficiency improvements.
* Establishing a Tech Bar to boost workforce digital confidence.
* Championing digital inclusion initiatives within the community.
* Representing the organization in communities of practice and professional networks.
* Defining and leading an innovation network to solve key challenges and encourage new approaches.
* Building an environment that fosters innovation related to data and technology.
* Managing the digital learning budget effectively.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented individual passionate about improving digital literacy and accessibility. The ideal candidate will excel in engaging and inspiring diverse audiences and possess strong communication and change management skills. Experience in public sector environments is desirable, as are proven skills in facilitating digital skill-building and implementing successful adoption strategies.
Required knowledge, skills, and experience include:
* A solid understanding of conducting organization-wide Learning Needs Analysis.
* Proficiency in a range of learning methodologies and change management techniques.
* Comprehensive knowledge of widely used Microsoft products like Windows 10/11, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
* An understanding of project lifecycles, both waterfall and agile.
* Awareness of challenges in raising digital skills within organizations and communities.
* Excellent communication skills across formats.
* The ability to inspire users and facilitate adoption of technologies at all organizational levels.
* Competence in planning and managing multiple projects or initiatives.
* Relevant qualifications and knowledge of public sector environments.
* Successful experience of increasing digital skill levels within organizations of similar size.
