About this opportunity
Westmorland and Furness Council are seeking an Insurance Manager to lead the insurance team and provide information and advice to support the S151 Officer in safeguarding assets by maintaining and administering appropriate insurance or through actively deciding to self-insure certain risks. The team also manages insurance claims made against the Council.
This role provides strategic oversight of the Council's insurance provision, enabling early identification and assessment of emerging insurance issues, and engagement with Council projects to ensure timely consideration of insurance matters, minimizing risk and cost.

You should have expertise in the insurance sector, the ability to lead a small team, and communicate advice clearly to senior managers. Up-to-date knowledge of the sector and commitment to self-development are essential.
