Supporting a Vibrant Young Adult to Live Life to the Fullest

We are seeking compassionate and enthusiastic female Support Workers to join a new team supporting a vibrant young adult with complex physical and communication needs. She is a sociable and fun-loving individual who is passionate about living life to the fullest and values her independence.

Music plays a huge part in her life, and she enjoys attending concerts, meeting artists, and expressing her creativity through themed outfits and personalised merchandise. She also loves shopping, spending time with family, meeting celebrities at events and engaging with the online world, particularly through social media and technology. Supporting her to safely enjoy these interests is a key aspect of the role.

At home, you will help her structure her day, enabling her to participate in meaningful activities beyond screen time while respecting her preferences and choices. In the community, you will accompany her to a variety of events and outings, including cafs, shopping trips, holidays, and adrenaline-style experiences (where safe to do so). Building positive relationships and supporting her to maintain friendships is essential.

Communication is central to this role. Although she is non-verbal, she expresses herself using vocalisations and assistive technology, so patience, attentiveness, and a willingness to engage are vital to ensure her voice is heard and respected.

This position is ideal for someone who is energetic, creative, and person-centred, with a genuine desire to empower an individual to lead a fulfilling and socially connected life. You will work collaboratively with her family and a multidisciplinary team to provide consistent, high-quality support that promotes dignity, choice, and independence.
