Job Description:
Subject to the successful closing of the transaction with Spirit, after obtaining relevant regulatory approvals, we are currently looking for a Senior Composite Material Engineer for a position in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to support A220 wing production.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage composite material activities in the Belfast production facilities.
* Contribute to and support production issues related to assembly and surface treatment technologies.
* Support and lead product improvements for cost or quality aspects of composite parts.
* Coordinate and support activities with Plant Engineering and Material & Process teams.
* Responsible for material selection and support to design, manufacturing engineering, supply chain, and quality for material-related queries and concessions.
* Build and maintain a stakeholder network with design offices, procurement, and quality teams.
Skills and Experience:
We seek an engineer or scientist with experience in composite materials and processes, knowledgeable in assembly and surface technologies, materials qualification, testing, and failure analysis. The role requires technical expertise in M&P composite technologies, manufacturing processes, and testing, along with managerial skills.
* Degree in Engineering or Science; Master's degree preferred.
* At least 8 years of proven experience in composites materials and processes, including assembly and surface treatment technologies.
* Experience supporting new material supplier qualifications and development.
* Ability to lead projects in an international, interdisciplinary environment.
* Strong networking and technical leadership skills, with a problem-solving approach.
