We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and passionate Cricket Coach to coach and promote sport amongst our pupils. Through outstanding coaching, you will create a culture that is welcoming, aspirational, and supportive—where every pupil feels valued and encouraged.

The role requires between 8 to 25 hours per week, including Saturday mornings to support our termly programme of internal and external fixtures amongst our teams. This role will coach cricket during the summer term. A willingness and ability to work before and after school to coach and support training sessions and fixtures is essential. Working pattern to be discussed and agreed at interview.


The Role

* Work to develop Cricket at Dunottar School for all ages, abilities and genders.

* Deliver high quality coaching sessions to a variety of teams through Years 7-13.

* Support and train the other coaches of Cricket by delivering and sharing training sessions and coaching tips.

* Liaise on a weekly basis with the Director of Sport and Director of Cricket to track initiatives and priorities.

* Lead weekly training sessions for a range of abilities and ages.

* Be a lead coach for one age group team in the schools Saturday sports programme.

* Ability to deliver structured, fun and challenging coaching sessions.

* Lead individual and team training sessions in preparation for the county/regional competitions.

* Demonstrate an enjoyment of working with children.

* Demonstrate a proven ability to remain calm and professional at all times.

* Have a willingness to undertake a range of tasks and commitments in order to provide the best educational experience and outcomes for our students.

* Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm and positive attitude.

* Display an ability to use initiative and take responsibility.

* Behave and act as a member of teaching staff, by following our code of professional standards, when working with children and maintain effective staff/student relationships.

* Demonstrate good communication and listening skills and be able to build rapport with pupils and staff.

* Be flexible and adaptable and able to work as part of a cohesive and supportive team.

* Regular sharing of coaching resources and CPD for staff.

* Excellent role model who has the ability to motivate and inspire by sharing a passion for sport.


Person Specification


Key Qualifications

* Relevant coaching award qualifications in cricket (or a willingness to undertake these).

* First Aid awareness and qualification (or a willingness to undertake this).

* Safeguarding Children in Education and child protection training (or a willingness to undertake this).


Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience

* Experience of playing or coaching cricket.
