Overview
Are you passionate about science and eager to contribute to the success of future scientists? If so, this dynamic technician role at an OFSTED outstanding-rated sixth form college could be the perfect opportunity for you.
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Science Technician to support the smooth running of science teaching at New College Pontefract. In this role, you will work as part of a small team across all science disciplines, helping to prepare equipment and laboratories for practical classes, assisting with demonstrations, and maintaining equipment and resources. You will play a key role in providing students with the opportunity to deepen their learning, develop their scientific interest, and enhance their practical skills.
Although we have a full-time vacancy available (37 hours per week), we are happy to consider applicants seeking part-time work, and flexibility around working patterns can be discussed at interview. Please indicate on your application the number of hours you would be interested in.
About You
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming team with a positive and supportive culture and a strong reputation for progression and development. Previous practical experience is essential, though you do not need to have held a school or college science technician role to be considered for this post. The college can provide funding for external training courses, such as those run by CLEAPSS, to support your professional development.
