We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. This role will join BGEN – one of the UK's largest multidisciplinary design and build contractors with over 100 years of industry experience. We support clients in the water, power & energy, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage industries to deliver next generation, value‑added engineering solutions.
What will you be doing?
As a SHE Advisor, you will play a key part in supporting our teams and helping everyone work safely, confidently, and responsibly. You will be a trusted partner on site, offering guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to ensure every project is delivered with care for people, the public, and the environment. You will help teams identify hazards, assess risks, and put strong controls in place for activities such as confined spaces, lifting operations, excavations, temporary works, and working near water. Through regular site visits, conversations, and coaching, you will promote safe behaviours and help build a positive, proactive safety culture. You will investigate incidents and near misses, identify root causes, and support meaningful improvements. You will keep our management systems active and effective, stay up to date with legislation and best practice, and ensure compliance with UK H&S law, CDM Regulations, client expectations, and company standards. You will deliver toolbox talks, support audits, maintain accurate records, and contribute to monthly performance reporting. You will champion company initiatives, engage with the workforce, and act as a role model for strong safety leadership. Above all, you will work closely with project teams to reduce risk, encourage good practice, and help every project succeed safely and sustainably.

Qualifications
* NEBOSH Certificate (General or Construction).
* CSCS or equivalent.
* Professional membership.
* UK driving licence.
* CDM knowledge and strong Microsoft skills.
Desirable
* NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ 5‑6.
* IEMA Certificate.
* First Aid.
* Incident investigation.
* Behavioural safety / Human Factors.
* High‑risk activity training (e.g., HSG47, lifting, excavations, working at height).
