SEN Teaching Assistant Location: Leeds Start Date: 6th October Contract: Full-time, Term Time Only (Long-term) Pay: £85-£115 per day (dependent on experience) Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Applications are welcomed from both experienced Teaching Assistants and those newly qualified at Level 2 or Level 3. Key Responsibilities Provide in-class support to pupils, helping to scaffold learning and promote engagement Work alongside the class teacher to prepare and adapt learning resources Support pupils with a range of additional needs, adapting approaches as required Build positive working relationships with staff, parents, and carers Contribute to a supportive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment Requirements Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths Experience supporting children with SEN/SEMH (desirable) A flexible, patient, and proactive approach Eligibility Criteria To be considered for this role, you must: Have the right to work in the UK Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one Provide two professional references relating to work with children This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their career in education while making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
