Hours – Varied (private school – some days are longer than others)
A private 2 form entry school in the Winchester suburbs is looking for a qualified SENCo to join their team
About the School:
A welcoming private school located in the Winchester Countryside (A car would be needed to access). Excellent facilities such as a swimming pool, football pitch, cooking suite and other amenities on site. Specialised teacher for languages, music and ICT are available to the children from the primary ages. Small class sizes of 15-20.
About the role:
To review EHCPs and IEPs accordingly
Ensure each child receives the correct support, observing and modelling where needed
Regular communication with families and carers to ensure consistency
Gather and recording evidence both written, photographic and anecdotal to support the child
A knowledge of SEND pedagogy
To share in the development of the school to ensure all pupils are included and valued in their learning journey
You will need :
SENCo qualification
QTS
Experience of working with KS2 student (essential) and lower KS3 (desired)
Be able to set clear targets for pupils’ learning development
To direct and support teachers working with those with additional needs
To cooperate and liaise with other professionals, including colleagues and external agencies
To set high expectations in terms of behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well focused teaching methods and implementing the school behaviour policy
