ESM Property Maintenance is seeking a reliable, trustworthy, and DBS-checked Part‑Time Driver / Maintenance Operative to support works across schools, care homes, and community facilities in East London and surrounding areas.
This role is suited to someone who is safeguarding‑aware, professional on site, and comfortable working in sensitive environments with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
* Driving company vans safely to education and care‑sector sites
* Supporting property and grounds maintenance, including:
o General repairs and minor handyman works
o Grounds and garden maintenance
o Waste removal and site clearance
o Assisting skilled trades as required
* Maintaining safe, clean, and orderly work areas
* Following safeguarding, health & safety, and site‑specific procedures at all times
* Valid Enhanced DBS certificate (registered to the Update Service preferred)
* Full UK driving licence with experience driving vans
* Experience in property maintenance, grounds maintenance, or facilities support
* Comfortable working in schools, care homes, and occupied premises
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Fluent spoken and written English
* Professional, respectful, and child/vulnerable‑adult‑aware at all times
* Multi‑skilled background (maintenance, gardening, cleaning, minor repairs)
* Previous experience working in schools, care homes, or public buildings
* Basic health & safety knowledge (RAMS awareness)
