About the Role
The Acceptance, Commissioning & Readiness Lead (ACR Lead) plays a critical part in ensuring new capabilities are successfully delivered and integrated into service. The role is responsible for leading acceptance, commissioning, and readiness activity, making sure systems, equipment, and infrastructure meet required standards and are fully operational before handover.
The postholder will liaise closely with programme teams, supply chain partners, and stakeholders to manage the transition of new capabilities into service, ensuring they are fit for purpose and meet operational demands.
The ACR Lead manages two teams:
* Acceptance & Commissioning Integration Team
* Readiness Team
The role reports directly to the Deputy Head of Capability Integration and may be required to represent them at board meetings, briefings, and working groups. It requires someone strategically focused, experienced in managing complex and changing requirements, and familiar with regulated or defence-related environments. Experience in stakeholder management, governance, and risk/schedule management is essential. Candidates with previous military or civil service experience would be well suited.
The role is split across multiple working locations, including on-site attendance, office-based work, and home working, aligned to engagement requirements with programme and operational stakeholders. Occasional travel to other sites or supply chain partners may be required.
Essential Experience
* Proven experience in managing acceptance, commissioning, and readiness activities for complex projects, within a defence regulated environment.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across diverse teams & organisations.
* Strong project management skills, including planning, risk management, and reporting.
* Experience in managing compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
