Salary: £120 - £250 per day (depending on experience)

We are seeking a passionate and articulate English Teacher to join a high‑achieving, forward‑thinking grammar school located in Medway. The successful candidate will deliver dynamic English lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, inspiring students to become confident readers, writers and critical thinkers.
The school is a highly successful selective grammar school for girls with a co‑educational sixth form, recently rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, and praised for its ambitious curriculum and strong culture of respect and achievement. The Department fosters a collaborative environment where teachers share best practices and support one another in delivering an excellent curriculum.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
* Inspire a love of reading, writing and literary analysis, encouraging students to explore a range of texts.
* Develop students’ skills in both creative and analytical writing, preparing them for GCSE and A‑Level examinations.
* Assess, record and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
* Contribute to the development of the English curriculum and participate in departmental initiatives and events.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in English.
* Have experience teaching English at secondary school level, including Key Stage 4.
* Possess strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English literature and language.
* Have the right to work in the UK.
* Meet GSL’s safer recruitment background checks.
* Have a Child Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
* Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
