Job Title: Holmes Indexer – Major Incident Room (MIR) - Police staff – SO15

Salary: The starting salary is £38,793, which includes allowances totalling £6,913.

The salary is broken down as £31,880 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £34,108. Plus, a 12.5% Shift Disturbance allowance, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

Job Summary

SO15 Major Incident Room (MIR) are teams of staff responsible for receiving, reviewing and indexing all material gathered during counter terrorism major investigations and the subsequent tasking of investigators to drive and direct investigations. As an indexer in the MIR, you will perform a vital role within this team and your work will feed into the wider counter terrorism network.

Key Tasks

CT HOLMES; cross-reference information and raise actions for the investigation teams, whilst simultaneously identifying intelligence development opportunities.

Vetting

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level before taking up the post.

This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check (eSC)/Developed Vetting (DV)] clearance.

As the post holder will have access to very sensitive information, there are limitations on travelling to a small number of countries and we will undertake additional security checks as part of the recruitment process. Applications from candidates with close connections to certain countries may take considerably longer to process, or in some cases result in a withdrawal of an offer of employment. Further details will be provided at the conditional offer stage.

Essential For The Role

Key Skills

The post holder must have:

* An attention to detail and ability to deal with large volumes of information, across multiple policing operations.
* Good IT skills and willingness to be trained on required computer applications for the role (including a 4-week training course on the Holmes 2 application and further training on Altia Scanning software packages). To be able to perform competently on these software's once trained.
* Capacity to work flexibly across a shift pattern Monday – Friday. The nature of this role may also necessitate working long hours at short notice.
* An ability to pass a Holmes aptitude test during the application process.

Desirables

* HOLMES trained.
* Previous experience of working for a Police Service.
