We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join a well-established Facilities Management company, taking responsibility for the delivery of a prestigious site contract in Cardiff. The Contract Manager will act as the overall owner of the contract, ensuring first-class service delivery to the client while maintaining strict control of costs and safeguarding profitability. This role requires a technically qualified professional with a proven track record in managing large, multi-disciplined maintenance services. The successful candidate will combine strong organisational and communication skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and support a diverse team. By fostering a positive and productive working environment, the Contract Manager will ensure operational excellence, compliance with customer requirements, and alignment with the company’s objectives. Job details: * Oversee contractors and service partners, ensuring they deliver high-quality service and customer care in line with the facilities company’s values, culture, and expectations. * Accountable for the P&L of all properties under maintenance. * Attend all necessary training to maintain safe working practices and environments. * Expected at their own expense to complete all specific manufacturer approved training as necessary to effectively manage and competently maintain fabric, systems, assets, and services incumbent to and dependent upon the services being maintained. * Develop and maintain performance metrics and monthly reports using the CAFM system. * Play a key role in contract renewals, addressing performance issues and replacing underperforming subcontractors where necessary. * Identify undersold contracts and work with the Commercial Team and Senior Management to agree solutions. * Monitor aged debt to prevent overdue payments, working with Credit Control, support teams, and clients to resolve issues promptly. * Provide senior management with regular updates on contracts, financial performance, key milestones, risks, and issues. * Support staff development by conducting performance reviews (PDRs/EPAs) and talent reviews, fostering a high-performance culture. * Manage Employee Relations (ER) issues including conduct, attendance, performance, and compliance, working closely with HR for guidance Qualifications / Experience: * Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Contract Management (essential). * Strong understanding of complex systems and their interdependencies. * QFC Level 4 qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent (essential). * Health & Safety certification – IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH Certificate preferred). * Ability to provide evidence of applicable licenses and/or professional qualifications (e.g., Refcom Elite, IET Wiring Regulations, ACS, Gas Safe, BCGA, WRAS, BOAS, Lift Engineering, or equivalent). * Proven experience working with critical system infrastructure. * Outstanding ability to anticipate and understand customer needs, providing tailored solutions that exceed expectations. * Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the capability to inspire and direct cross-functional teams. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and associated Microsoft tools.
