About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Oakwood, a category C prison located in Wolverhampton.
HMP Oakwood is one of the largest prisons in the UK, housing over 1,500 men. The Pharmacy Team consists of 10 Pharmacy Techs and 2 Pharmacy Assistants. There are three main houseblocks with two dispensaries and three smaller units with one dispensary each.

Hours
This role is permanent based on 19 hours per week covering weekends only.
* Saturday – 7.30 am to 5.30 pm (9.5 hrs)
* Sunday – 7.30 am to 5.30 pm (9.5 hrs)
Salary
Part‑time role: annual salary between £29,264 and £33,510 per annum FTE, pro‑rata.

Responsibilities
* Provide outstanding quality, patient‑centred care, seeking out, listening to and acting on patient feedback so care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
* Focus on a safe and secure medicines management service, ensuring patient medical records are maintained to the agreed standard at all times and standard operating procedures are followed to a high and orderly standard.
* Deliver non‑judgemental care within professional standards, including timely administration of medicines and analysis of cost‑effective prescribing as defined by our Health in Justice medicines policy.
* Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 3, or above, BTEC or equivalent
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Up‑to‑date with Continual Professional Development (CPD)
* Relevant post‑qualification pharmacy experience
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Able to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures
* Legal right to work in the UK (subject to additional vetting and security checks)
Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
