Consultant Anaesthetist Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin, Scotland.
NHS Grampian is delighted at the prospect of expanding the Anaesthetic Department at Dr Gray’s Hospital in Elgin, Scotland. This full‑time post will primarily be based at Dr Gray’s Hospital. Specialist interests will be encouraged and there may be an opportunity to work at other hospitals within Grampian or other Health Boards. Individualised job planning can be tailored to the requirements of both service and applicants, including flexible, part‑time or annualised work patterns.
Full registration with a licence to practise with the GMC is required (licence to practise must be in place prior to starting in post).
Applicants should be in possession of FRCA.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.
CESR or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply once registration is awarded.
Doctors with an International Recognised Specialist Qualification approved by the GMC should have confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register.
Applications from doctors with appropriate specialist training and experience who are not listed on the GMC Specialist Register can be considered for a Locum Consultant post (up to 12 months) if no substantive Consultant appointment is made.
The Scottish Government has committed to re-establish a consultant‑led obstetric service in the hospital, including a new resident non‑consultant rota tier and expanding the existing consultant team to at least 12 Full Time Equivalent to meet Royal College of Anaesthetists Obstetric Anaesthesia requirements.
