Job Description
At Teconnex in West Yorkshire, we are seeking a technically strong and detail-driven Aerospace Production Engineer to support and improve manufacturing processes for aerospace components and assemblies within a regulated, high-reliability environment.
This position bridges Design Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring products are delivered efficiently, safely, and fully compliant with aerospace quality and regulatory standards.
The Role
You will play a key role in optimising production processes, supporting new product introduction (NPI), and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, implement and optimise manufacturing processes for aerospace components
* Provide technical support to production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve yield
* Create and maintain work instructions, routings, and manufacturing documentation
* Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure DFM/DFA best practice
* Support NPI activities including tooling, fixtures, validation and production readiness
* Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
* Analyse production data to improve cycle time, quality, and cost efficiency
* Work cross-functionally with Quality, Planning, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams
* Ensure compliance with AS9100 and applicable regulatory requirements (CAA / EASA / FAA where applicable)
Essential Skills
* Experience within aerospace or other high-reliability manufacturing sectors
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as:
* Stainless steel forming, Spot welding
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
* Experience with Aerospace Core Tools:
* PFD, PFMEA, Control Plans, PPAP / FAIR, APQP
* Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
* Effective cross-functional communication skills
Desirable skills
* Experience working within AS9100-certified environments
* Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma methodologies
* Experience with CAD and manufacturing planning systems
* Hands-on experience with tooling, fixtures, and validation activities
* IEMA membership or working towards Chartered Environmentalist status
Essential:
Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
