Electrical Panel Wirer
GRE is a fast-moving, exciting, agile and modern business operating from our headquarters and manufacturing facility in Willand, Devon, UK. We design & manufacture innovative, high-end heating and cooling systems for industrial, medical, scientific and laboratory applications.
We are looking for an Electrical Panel Wirer, to join our friendly, experienced, highly skilled production team, and become part of this diverse, young, growing company at an exciting time.
The ideal candidate will have experience in industrial wiring, both mains and control. You will be responsible for the accurate wiring, assembly, and testing of control panels, ensuring compliance with wiring drawings and industry standards.
We are looking for an all-round, hands-on, practically minded Engineer, who relishes a challenge and is looking for the opportunity to learn new skills. You will be working with our established team, producing prestigious machinery for globally recognised companies.
The role will be based at our factory in Willand and is Monday to Friday day shift, with the opportunity to work overtime, and at customer’s sites if required.
Must haves
· Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
· Ability to identify Electrical Components (switchgear, control gear, crimps, terminals and so on)
· A solid understanding of the function of all major components (Relays, Manual motor starters, MCBs,
VFDs, contactors, general switchgear, PLC & IO, terminals etc)
· Ability to work independently with occasional supervision, whilst meeting deadlines
· Proficiency with hand and power tools
· A high level of attention to detail and the ability to produce neat, well laid-out work
· Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude.
Nice to have
The following are desirable but NOT ESSENTIAL
· Experience laying out a backplate and building electrical panels
· Experience in wiring electrical panels, including Busbar wiring and connection up to 400V and up to
500A
· Experience in selecting components for electrical panels
· Knowledge of the requirements for cable sizing and cable type selection
· Desire to visit customer sites in the UK and abroad from time-to-time
