In Ton Yr Ywen we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, motivated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This is a rewarding opportunity for a practitioner who is committed to delivering high‑quality learning experiences and promoting positive physical wellbeing for all pupils.
The successful candidate will plan and deliver engaging, high‑quality PE PPA provision for classes across the school, making effective use of both indoor and outdoor learning environments. The role includes regular, active participation in physical learning, with the expectation that the post holder is able to confidently lead, demonstrate and support a wide range of physical activities as part of daily practice.
Applicants should be able to engage fully in movement‑based learning, modelling enthusiasm for physical activity and healthy lifestyles. Activities may take place both indoors and outdoors and across different weather conditions, in line with school provision and curriculum expectations.
In addition, the post holder will undertake a range of day‑to‑day classroom responsibilities, working collaboratively with teachers to support learning, behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion across the school.
A strong commitment to our nurturing, inclusive and community‑focused ethos is essential. The successful candidate will be someone who builds positive relationships with pupils, staff and families and contributes positively to the wider life of the school.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
●Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
●Initiative, adaptability and a positive, proactive approach to supporting learning
●The ability to meet the needs of all learners, including those with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and More Able and Talented (MAT) pupils
●A secure understanding of early childhood development and inclusive practice
●Confidence in delivering high‑quality learning experiences both indoors and outdoors
●The ability and willingness to participate actively in PE and physical learning as a regular part of the role
This role would suit a reflective, adaptable practitioner who values teamwork, inclusion and high expectations for all learners.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014, all School Learning Support Workers must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
