Senior Azure Engineer
We are looking for a talented and dedicated Senior Azure Engineer to join our professional services team here at Ekco, delivering transformational Public Cloud migration and modernisation projects to our customers. We are a multi‑disciplinary, agile team of experts covering consulting and engineering activities, closely collaborating with our business colleagues and customers to ensure the best possible service is delivered.
The Role
As a Senior Azure Engineer, you will play a key role in:
Day‑to‑Day
* Leading the design, planning and implementation of Public Cloud projects for key Ekco clients
* Working closely with Solutions Architecture and Project Management teams to deliver exceptional projects and solutions
* Creating detailed high‑level and low‑level design and project handover documents to communicate solutions to clients and Ekco’s service delivery teams
* Contributing to the creation of best practices within the professional services team
* Acting as an escalation point for technical issues within the Azure projects team, taking ownership until the issue is resolved to the customers’ satisfaction
* Providing technical mentorship to team members, ensuring that technical documentation is maintained in line with Ekco standards and policies
About You
* A strong customer focus, with an ability to continually anticipate and meet customers’ needs, excelling in communicating at all levels within a customer organisation
* Excellent working knowledge of Azure infrastructure services; Compute, Storage, Networking, Azure Virtual Desktop
* Experience delivering application modernisation projects in Azure: App Services, Container Apps, Azure SQL Database, Function/Logic Apps
* Experience working to ensure customer solutions and services comply with the relevant product standards and internal documentation (in accordance with ISO certification)
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in a Professional Services role for a Cloud Managed Services provider
The Desirables
* Experience architecting production environments across Physical, Virtualised and Cloud technologies
* Experience managing or implementing Microsoft 365 services; Entra ID and Conditional Access, Exchange Online, Intune, SharePoint
* Experience designing and configuring Azure networking solutions: Azure WAN, Azure Firewall, Front Door, Traffic Manager, Express Route
* Knowledge of DevOps best practices and CI/CD tools
* Demonstrable knowledge of Terraform
* Understanding of Service Management best practices frameworks such as ITIL
* Knowledge of on‑premise networking principles and products and how they integrate with cloud services
