Functional Skills Maths Lecturer
Location: Kidderminster
Contract: Full-Time, Temporary
Duration: Initially 12 Weeks
Start Date: End of August 2026
Salary: Up to £35 per hour (inclusive of statutory holiday pay)
The Supply Register is recruiting on behalf of a Further Education College in Kidderminster for a Functional Skills Maths Lecturer to join their team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Maths Lecturer to support learners across a range of study programmes, delivering high-quality Functional Skills Maths provision and helping students develop the essential skills required for further study, employment and everyday life.
The role is initially for a 12-week period, with the potential for extension depending on business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective Functional Skills Maths lessons to learners at varying levels.
Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality learning activities that support student achievement.
Assess, monitor and record learner progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Support learners to develop confidence and competence in mathematics.
Prepare students for Functional Skills examinations and assessments.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance and curriculum development activities.
Participate in team meetings and departmental activities as required.
Essential Requirements
A relevant qualification in Mathematics or a related subject.
Previous experience teaching Functional Skills Maths within a Further Education, Adult Education or similar setting.
Strong knowledge of the Functional Skills Maths curriculum and assessment requirements.
Excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills.
A passion for supporting learners to achieve their educational goals.
Desirable Requirements
A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent).
Experience delivering GCSE Maths resit programmes.
Previous experience working within a Further Education College environment.
Experience supporting learners with diverse learning needs and abilities.
Safeguarding Requirements
The successful candidate must hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to obtain one prior to commencement of employment. All appointments will be subject to satisfactory safeguarding and compliance checks.

Competitive hourly rate of up to £35 per hour, inclusive of statutory holiday pay.
