Newport Pagnell Medical Centre has a fantastic opportunity for a temporary healthcare assistant to join the practice for approximately 6 months, supporting the nursing team on a part-time basis. The annual salary for these hours is £7,436.
Working under the direct supervision of the lead nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, you will assist the clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. The healthcare assistant will be able to apply their clinical skills and knowledge to carry out high-quality practice within designated clinical areas such as:
* Venepuncture, phlebotomy checks
* New patient health checks
* Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
* Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during minor operations
* Providing valuable health promotion and education for service users, their families, and carers

About the Candidate
If you are a qualified and experienced healthcare assistant seeking a new challenge, we would love to hear from you. You will have the following skills and qualifications:
* Successful completion of the Care Certificate
* Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent
* Experience working within a GP practice
* Strong clinical skills
* Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the role
* Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills
* Confidentiality, compassion, and respect for patients, relatives, carers, and colleagues
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong organizational and time management skills
Desirable: A qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
