We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a new children's home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) in Coventry. This is a rare opportunity to shape a home driven by therapeutic principles while ensuring children receive the highest standard of care in a safe, supportive, and empowering environment.
The successful candidate will benefit from strong active support from a Responsible Individual who is a registered Social Worker with extensive experience embedding reflective and restorative practice models. The Registered Manager will not be alone in decision-making and will have ongoing support from the RI and MD. As the home expands to a second property within two years, the Registered Manager will play a key role in shaping growth while maintaining exemplary standards of care.
Leadership and Compliance
* Manage the home in line with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards (2015), Safeguarding procedures and policies, and OFSTED SCCIF (Social Care Common Inspection Framework).
* Act as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
* Maintain OFSTED readiness, aiming for "Good" or "Outstanding."
* Regularly review and update the home's Statement of Purpose.
Care Delivery
* Provide care for children aged 8-17, meeting their emotional, educational, and social needs.
* Support children in overcoming trauma and adversity through positive relationships.
* Work with therapists, psychologists, and social workers on tailored care plans.
* Ensure children's rights and voices are central to decision-making.
Team Development
* Recruit, train, and develop a motivated staff team.
* Provide regular supervision and appraisals.
* Support staff in embedding therapeutic principles.
* Delegate effectively to ensure accountability.
Operational and Resource Management
* Oversee daily operations and staff rotas.
* Conduct audits on health and safety, compliance, and maintenance.
* Manage budgets effectively while ensuring high standards of care.
* Maintain accurate records in line with regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Build strong professional relationships with partner agencies.
* Ensure timely submission of Reg 44 and Reg 45 reports.
* Represent the home in external meetings, promoting high standards of care.

Requirements
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 12 months)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in children's residential care, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
* Proven track record achieving "Good" or "Outstanding" OFSTED ratings
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding and relevant legislation
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

* Additional qualifications in therapeutic practices or child psychology

We offer a competitive salary of £50,000 per annum, generous annual leave entitlement, person-centred professional development, including training in therapeutic and restorative practice, and ongoing CPD with support from a registered Social Worker (RI).
