Job Opportunity: Property Maintenance Operative
We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Property Maintenance Operative to support the Facilities Manager in delivering efficient maintenance services across multiple College sites. This role may include caretaking and cleaning duties. The successful candidate will oversee daily maintenance activities, ensure compliance with health and safety policies, and address faults and maintenance requests in collaboration with the Facilities Manager.
1. Proven practical experience in trades such as carpentry & joinery, plumbing, painting & decorating, and plastering.
2. Trustworthy, honest, and reliable.
3. Residing in the local area.
4. Strong knowledge and practical experience in cleaning, including working with cleaning agents and equipment.
5. Willingness to work flexibly according to the College’s needs.
6. Good personal presentation and interpersonal skills.
7. Effective communication skills at all levels.
8. Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks.
9. Ability to work independently without close supervision.
10. Team player with a proactive approach.
11. High awareness of health, safety, and security procedures.
12. Experience in completing risk assessments.
13. Physically fit, capable of lifting and carrying equipment.
14. Valid clean driving license and access to insured vehicle.
15. Flexibility to cover various shifts, including occasional weekends.
