What Your Day Will Look Like:
As a construction inspector, you will monitor on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents related to excavations, drainage facilities, road surfaces, structures, and storm damage projects. Your responsibilities include taking field measurements, reporting daily production rates, and scheduling work and inspections with the contractor’s superintendent and agency personnel. The construction inspector reports to the project administrator.
Hourly Range: $65/hour - $80/hour
What You'll Do:
* Inspect, observe, document, and verify work in progress to ensure compliance with project schedules, contract documents, and plans.
* Perform complex mathematical calculations and measurements using engineering inspection practices.
* Maintain daily reports of activities, contractor labor, equipment, and material verification.
* Conduct on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches as needed.
* Support project procedures, especially documentation development for final estimates.
What You'll Need:
* HS Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum four years of construction inspection experience.
* Experience in storm damage projects.
* Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications.
* Obtain necessary certifications and pass qualification tests within specified timeframes.
* Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
* Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and handle physical demands, including lifting up to 35 lbs.
