Overview
Maintenance Manager, Hotel Du Vin (Malmaison & Hotel Du Vin portfolio) — Competitive rate, 45 hours per week, Permanent contract. Location: Exeter.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the general maintenance of the property, upkeep of its facilities, and the management of the maintenance team. You will ensure that jobs are completed efficiently to meet guest expectations during their stay. You will allocate responsibilities to the team, maintain the daily jobs list, and manage preventative maintenance schedules with attention to detail and a passion for fixing things.
You must meet deadlines, liaise with contractors, and take responsibility for health and safety on the property. You should be organized, an excellent communicator, and a hands-on manager with strong attention to detail. Experience in a maintenance department of a similar quality hotel is required; knowledge of electrics and health and safety is beneficial. Computer literacy is important for compliance and audit tasks.
Responsibilities
* Direct and oversee the maintenance team and daily maintenance program
* Plan, schedule, and monitor preventative maintenance
* Coordinate with contractors and ensure timely project completion
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
* Maintain accurate records for audits and compliance
* Respond to maintenance requests promptly to minimise guest disruption
Qualifications
* Experience in a maintenance role within a comparable quality hotel
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems and health & safety practices
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Hands-on management style with attention to detail
* Proficient computer literacy for maintenance and audit tasks
