What is the purpose of the Senior Finance Business Partner?
The role is key to ensuring financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation. It is responsible for leading the delivery of all aspects of operational financial management, reporting, and analysis within designated Directorate's of the NSPCC. The role operates at both a strategic and operational level, building strong relationships with internal and external partners, and providing appropriate challenge to help us maximise resources and deliver on our mission to protect children.
What will you be doing as a Senior Finance Business Partner?
1. Business partnering with Senior Management to develop an in depth knowledge of their Directorate/Departments and to support achievement of strategic objectives
2. Producing, collating and ensuring timely delivery of accurate Directorate and Departmental budgets and forecasts
3. Managing and contributing to the delivery of month end processing and variance analysis
4. Preparing and delivering consolidated financial monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc operational performance reporting packs
5. Maintaining the integrity of NSPCC finances ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting standards, financial regulations and internal procedures
6. Working collaboratively with other Senior Finance Business Partners to identify process improvements and projects
7. Managing, supervising and developing a small team of direct reports.
What skills do you need to be a Senior Finance Business Partner?
8. A qualified Accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with extensive experience of working within a management accounts function of a complex organisation
9. Strong business partnering skills with the ability to establish effective relationships across the organisation and within finance
10. Considerable experience in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
11. Substantial experience in the preparation and provision of management reporting
12. Highly numerate with the ability to analyse numbers critically and extract pertinent information for management
