We have an exciting opportunity at our Harpurhey campus to join our Sport Public Services & Care Professions Department as a Maths Teacher on a permanent, part-time (17.5 hours per week) basis.

We welcome applications from aspiring teachers who are passionate about sharing their industry skills. At The Manchester College, you will be supported by our Teaching Academy to work towards qualified teacher status for post 16 compulsory education, through a Cert Ed/PGCE. This includes 3-4 hours delivery per week and engagement with a mentor to support your progress in the profession while you work. The starting salary for an unqualified teacher is between £28,300.00 – £30,307.50*. It’s a great way to kick-start a rewarding career with full training and support. Once you’ve successfully qualified and demonstrated your teaching competence, you’ll progress to the qualified teacher salary banding.
*Consideration will be given to relevant industry experience and skills with the flexibility to offer increased starting salaries in some circumstances*.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
7. Certificate of education or PGCE
8. Current and valid industry specialism
9. Assessor qualifications (if required by Awarding Organisation)
10. Minimum Level 3 occupational qualification
11. English and maths minimum level 2 Grace C or grade 4 and above
12. Significant Experience of delivering outstanding teaching and learning
13. Proven track record of high-quality teaching in delivering subject specialism or current valid industry
14. Working as a team
15. Verbal and written communication skills
16. Meet delivery targets and plans
17. Accurate and timely reports and records
18. Positive contribution to planning processes
