Second Chef Catering and Hospitality - Cedar Lodge and The Limes Care Home Contract: Part Time Salary: £12.55 Per Hour Shift Type: Days Contracted hours: 24 Cedar Lodge Care Home is located in Taunton, Somerset, and provides specialist dementia, palliative, and respite care for up to 39 residents, alongside The Limes, a dedicated mental health community supporting a further 15 individuals. The home offers a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment, with a strong focus on personalised care, dignity, and resident wellbeing. Second Chef – Supporting Head Chef £12.55 per hour 24 hours per week over 3 days, including alternate weekends Shift times: 8am – 5pm Pension scheme, Paid DBS, Uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full-time contract) Role Overview As Second Chef, you will work alongside the Head Chef to ensure residents enjoy nutritious, well-balanced, and beautifully presented meals every day. You will confidently step in when the Head Chef is off, maintaining kitchen standards, overseeing daily operations, and keeping mealtimes a highlight for our residents. You will prepare and serve a variety of meals, catering to individual dietary requirements and preferences, including textured or special diets. Your role also includes stock control, ordering supplies, maintaining accurate temperature and safety records, and supporting kitchen staff to deliver consistent, high-quality food. This role offers a consistent daytime schedule (8am–5pm), providing a great work-life balance while giving you the opportunity to make a real difference to residents’ lives.
