We have an exciting opportunity for a band 6 Clinical Educator role, within our Professional Development and Education Team (PDET)
We would like to recruit a dynamic individual to join the existing clinical educator team; this role will be aimed to support and develop our Nursing and Health Care workforce, within inpatient areas.The successful candidate will have relevant ward experience andcomprehensive nursing skills and knowledge. Their duties will include, working alongside our new nurses, to help them integrate onto the ward, acting as a role model at all times.

Main duties of the job
As part of the Clinical Education team you will be expected to support our nursing workforce from the very beginning of their journey with the trust at induction, health care support worker academy and preceptorship, continuing to work alongside our staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and competencies to allow them to perform their role to its full potential.
There will be opportunities to provide structured teaching sessions within the role, teaching experience is not necessary as support will be provided. There will be also many times where teaching can be ad hoc, being able to respond to this appropriately is crucial. The successful candidate should have a passion for teaching and be able to provide constructive encouragement and support to staff. It would be beneficial to have some experience of working on acute wards and it is essential they hold a recognised assessor’s qualification.
The role will involve cross site travelling, to ensure we provide support at both York and Scarborough.

Essential criteria
1. At least 18 months post registration experience in an acute setting
2. Working with a wide range of professionals
3. Awareness of current issues in health care
4. Standards of Professional Practice
Desirable criteria
5. Teaching Qualification
6. Previous experience of delivering clinical training or support e.g. Link Trainer/Nurse
7. Proven skills in using simulation as a teaching tool
8. Able to educate both formally and informally
