Raytheon UK is searching for a Standardisation Manager to join our OMNIA® Training team.

As a Standardisation Manager, you will be critical to the successful delivery of the programme, collaborating within a matrix organisation with multi‑disciplinary teams within Engineering. OMNIA is redefining the British Army’s collective training. To do that, we are looking for the best and brightest minds from across the UK, backed by British innovation and powered by world‑class experts, like you. We are looking for individuals who want to serve. You’ll have a mission focus and the enthusiasm and drive to deliver. You must be eligible and willing to obtain SC clearance and will be based at Warminster working in a hybrid style.

The role

This is more than a job — it’s a mission. You will be part of a high‑impact, collaborative environment, where we expect everyone to live the values and standards of the British Army. Every person in our team plays a critical role in delivering OMNIA’s vision; designing, delivering and transforming collective training so the British Army is ready to fight and win.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop, implement and maintain the Standardisation Management Plan (SMP) in accordance with JSP 920.
* Establish and manage processes to identify, record and control standards across the full engineering lifecycle of the programme.
* Maintain and manage the ACTS Standards Library (ASL), ensuring all applicable standards are documented, traceable and accessible.
* Identify relevant national, international and defence standards including ISO, NATO STANAG, British Standards and Five Eyes interoperability standards.
* Ensure standards are incorporated into system design, procurement, integration, testing and support processes.
* Work closely with the Design Authority, engineering teams and third‑party stakeholders to identify and assess standards during technical review gates.
* Ensure alignment with MOD standardisation policy, architecture frameworks and system interoperability requirements.
* Manage change control for standards including addition, modification or retirement through engineering governance processes.
* Conduct assessments and risk analysis for legacy or obsolete standards where continued use may be required.
* Provide standards oversight during design reviews, ensuring compliance with architecture frameworks and engineering policies.
* Support the adoption of Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) techniques to ensure standards compliance across system design and verification activities.
* Liaise with MOD standardisation stakeholders and organisations to ensure alignment with defence standards and emerging policy.
* Provide guidance and support to engineering teams on the selection and implementation of appropriate standards.
* Ensure procurement activities adhere to agreed standardisation approaches for hardware, software and services.
* Monitor the implementation of standards across the programme and report compliance and risks to programme leadership.
* Evaluate emerging standards and recommend their adoption where beneficial to interoperability, capability or system integration.

Who we are looking for

We’re after individuals who want to serve. You’ll have a mission focus and the enthusiasm and drive to ‘get things done’. You’ll want to work in collaboration with other defence training organisations and the British Army. You won’t let bureaucracy get in the way of what needs to be done, you’ll learn lessons and share these lessons across the team. You won’t necessarily have a military background but you’ll understand what it means to serve and put the mission first. Responsible to the Senior Programme Engineering Manager, this position is customer‑facing and involves strategic operational responsibilities, acting as the bridge between our customer and the programme teams. This position requires a customer first mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary engineering team in a complex and evolving environment.

* Proven experience managing technical standards, policies or engineering governance within complex programmes.
* Strong knowledge of defence, international and industry standards frameworks including ISO, NATO STANAGs and British Standards.
* Experience implementing standardisation processes across engineering lifecycles including design, integration, testing and support.
* Experience maintaining standards registers, libraries or configuration‑controlled documentation repositories.
* Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and the role of standards in enabling interoperability and integration.
* Experience supporting design reviews, technical governance boards or engineering assurance processes.
* Experience working with engineering teams, design authorities and programme stakeholders to enforce technical standards.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to assess technical standards and their applicability.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain standards requirements to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
* Experience working within regulated or defence environments with formal governance structures.
* Degree in Systems Engineering, Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or equivalent experience).
* Holds or is eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).

Desirable Skills and Experience

* Experience working with MOD standards and governance frameworks including JSP 920 and defence standardisation processes.
* Experience using standards management or reference tools such as British Standards Online (BSOL) or StanMIS.
* Experience working with Model‑Based Systems Engineering environments and tools (e.g. SysML modelling tools such as Enterprise Architect).
* Familiarity with architecture frameworks used in defence environments (e.g. NAFv4).
* Experience supporting procurement standardisation activities for hardware, software and engineering services.
* Experience working with large defence supply chains and ensuring vendor compliance with engineering standards.
* Formal offers to successful candidate will be conditional upon award.

What we offer

* Chance to join a groundbreaking mission – to shape the future and drive innovation within a team focused on collaboration across a matrix organisation.
* You will join at a unique time, where you can help shape this team and be rewarded with ongoing development opportunities and clear pathways to progress within a trusted defence industry partner.
