The role supports Registered Nursing staff in delivering personal care and assistance for patients within the Theatre departments at University Hospital Coventry, Cedar Ward and the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.

Assessment centre and interviews will be held on 09 March 2026 at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire, Clinical Science Building for shortlisted candidates.
Successful applicants must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from their UK occupational health provider or GP. Sponsorship is not supported for this role.

Job Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and assistance to theatre patients, ensuring dignity and comfort.
* Support nursing staff and theatre teams—including nurses, anaesthetists, surgeons, operating department practitioners and administrative staff.
* Assist patients who may be anxious about operating theatre entry, helping them feel calm and comfortable.
* Maintain cleanliness and order in theatre and ward areas, including Cedar Ward in Rugby.
* Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and infection control guidelines.
* Participate in a week‑long induction and mandatory enrolment in the 'Time to Care' programme and Care Certificate qualification.
Essential Qualifications
* Level 2 BTEC Diploma or equivalent health and social care qualification, or equivalent care experience.
* Previous care experience or experience in a person‑centred public‑facing role.
* Knowledge of NHS values, behaviours and patient safety standards.
Desirable
* Additional health and social care training or certificates.
* Experience working within a theatre or orthopaedic ward environment.

* Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
