Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency across multiple projects. You will work on contracts including JCT and NEC4, focusing on pricing, procurement, and overall contract management.

Key Responsibilities

● Drawing take offs, costings and developing bespoke schedule of works - ability to read plans

● Ensure subcontractors and suppliers enquiries for each project are sent, monitored and reviewed

● Obtain accurate quotes for materials

● Answer queries regarding tenders - Evaluate and check tender documents

● Attending site surveys as necessary

● Understand and be able to generate and apply 1st principle cost estimates

● Be capable of developing and maintaining supply chain partners

● Prepare, submit, and manage project valuations and financial statements

● Lead pricing and cost estimations for new and ongoing projects & provide regular financial reports to senior management

● Manage and oversee JCT and NEC4 contracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risks

● Working alongside construction team to ensure project delivery

● Preparation of ITT including a working understanding of content collated

● Ability to assess, not merely compare, tender returns

● Customer focus - ensuring quality and securing repeat business

● Handle contract administration, including variations, payments, and claims

● Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers, to ensure smooth project delivery

About You

We are looking for an individual who is detail-oriented, proactive, and has a strong background in contract management and pricing. Being from a Mechanical/Engineering/Plumbing background is an advantage

Essential Requirements:

● Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field

● At least 3 years' experience

● Proven experience in managing JCT and NEC4 contracts

● Strong expertise in pricing, cost control, and procurement

● Have exposure to the energy industry (district heating / cooling)

● Have exposure to both residential and commercial projects

● Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial management

● Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills

● Competent in using Microsoft packages

● Driving Licence is a must - willing to travel within the UK for projects as required

Desirable Skills:

● Previous experience in M&E quantity surveying

● Experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
