Next is one of the UK’s best known high-street retailers and a leading online retailer. We are at the forefront of Warehousing and Logistics, employing over 9000 people across our distribution centres.
Let's Take it On
We’re seeking a motivated leader to deliver an innovative, market-leading fleet management service to Next Distribution. The role involves considering H&S, products, service, and cost.
The successful candidate will assist in procuring fleet and related services nationwide, focusing on whole life costs and managing the supplier base to meet and exceed service levels.
Leading a small team of Fleet Team Managers, you will oversee monitoring of all transport sites, improve legal compliance, and maintain policy and procedure documentation to ensure best practices. You will manage the maintenance planner and defect register to achieve 100% compliance, and meet regularly with maintenance and service providers to ensure service delivery and keep VOR below 5%.
The Operational Fleet Manager will support all Transport operations, including online and two-person deliveries, ensuring activities are cost-effective. You will also manage fleet numbers against budget, overseeing asset movements and hired fleet to meet peak demands.
About you
We seek an experienced Fleet Manager with a National CPC for Transport Managers, solid knowledge of Road Transport regulations, and experience managing large fleets in a fast-paced environment. Budgeting experience in a similar role is advantageous.
You should have experience leading a team to achieve operational goals and be capable of building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, fleet suppliers, and service providers to ensure compliance and operational targets are met.
