What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: Housing Accounts Officer REF: Nuneaton 5275896 Pay rate: £17.47 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 3 to 4 months Working Arrangement: Hybrid working with a mixture of office working and home visits, so being able to travel across the Borough to tenant's homes is essential. Must hold a full, valid drivers license, with access to car for work. The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking two experienced Customer Accounts Officers within a Housing team to manage a patch of rent accounts that are in arrears. You should be able to proactively monitor rent accounts and work to current Arrears Policy. You will also offer support to tenants where required, and take enforcement action against rent accounts in arrears. The role requires a mixture of office working and home visits, so being able to travel across the Borough to tenant's homes is essential. As well as working on arrears accounts, the candidates would need to be able to agree suitable repayment plans, set up direct debits and monitor accounts in credit. What the client is looking for: Previous experience of delivering customer service excellence Experience in dealing with difficult customers, some of whom may be demanding/vulnerable. Housing Qualification or equivalent experience Good understanding of the benefits system, including Housing Benefit, Universal Credit etc An understanding of the challenges currently facing the housing sector. Excellent working knowledge of the arrears recovery process Good administrative, organisational and planning skills with an ability to acquire knowledge and grasp new concepts quickly. Knowledge of court process Focused/target driven and thrive in a highly performance driven environment. Demonstrate passion around customer service to provide the highest possible service. Well-developed questioning, listening, influencing & negotiating skills Be a strong communicator with a high level of attention to detail and enjoy working as part of a fast-paced debt recovery team Willing to work outside office hours if required.
