What's involved with this role: JOB TITLE: IT Project Manager REF: E Cheshire 5280833 Pay rate: £24.14 per hour PAYE Contract Type: Temporary, Anticipated 6 months Working Arrangement: Hybrid working, to be agreed with the line manager A Basic DBS is needed In order to apply for this role you will have IT Project Management experience, ideally in a local authority or public sector organisation. You will have previous experience working in IT, including management experience in a technical area. The role: On behalf of a local council, we are seeking a Project Manager for an Information and Data Management (IADM) Programme, to coordinate and deliver projects pertinent to Enterprise Content management and a number of other business focussed ICT projects. The IADM programme is focussed on utilising technology to enable effective business change across multiple services, to support and embed information assurance, reduced duplication, business efficiencies and increased compliance. As the PM you will need to display a good mix of technological understanding and the impacts this has on culture and business change. The Programme is Information and Business focussed, so it is essential that you can demonstrate a range of previous projects which display Business and ICT capabilities. Key Responsibilities: Manage, develop and implement and maintain a range of information and communications technology (ICT) policies, processes, projects, products and services for the Council in accordance with the Corporate Plan and ICT investment strategy and delivery programme. Ensure delivery meets the requirements of the business and complies with appropriate professional technical and national standards. What the client is looking for: Degree level qualification in a relevant field or an level of equivalent experience and Prince 2 Practitioner is desirable Demonstrate experience in a range of previous projects which display Business and ICT capabilities Experience in managing successful programmes is desirable A good mix of technological understanding and the impacts this has on culture and business change Previous experience working in IT, including management experience in a technical area Programme and project management experience including initial scoping, feasibility assessments and managing budgets within agreed constraints, using Prince 2 project planning, management and control techniques, e.g. risk assessment and critical path analysis Experience of managing multidisciplinary teams, including matrix management of staff working projects Experience of implementing ongoing process improvement including establishing educational programmes to support initiatives Tendering and contract management experience, preferably within a Local Government setting Ability to work with technical and business partners to identify opportunities to realise benefits, income, savings and improvements A background in working in partnership with stakeholders (internal and external) to achieve common goals How to Apply Quote the Job Title and Reference Number in your application.
